Germany holds the technological leadership in the field of offshore wind energy through intensified efforts in research and development. However, the U.S. is the leading international nation in wind energy production with energy investments almost exclusively concentrating on the onshore sector.  With new projects being planned along the Atlantic coast, especially New York and North Carolina are being on the forefront of offshore wind energy. The sector continues to offer excellent potential for specialized German providers in the coming years, who want to become active in the American market.

The program is sponsored by the Export Initiative "Energy Solutions - Made in Germany" of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy which aims to:
  • Highlight efficient solutions from Germany that can be implemented in the US.
  • Share industry knowledge internationally to further develop the sustainable building and infrastructure market.
  • Raise awareness among political decision makers and opinion leaders concerning the importance of energy efficiency and the synergy between the two countries.
  • Support climate protection and resource conservation through smarter buildings and infrastructures
