​NextGen Gaming: Study Tour New York

The NextGen Gaming: Study Tour New York offers an exclusively curated program for representatives from academia, industry, and the public sector with a focus on game development, esports, and the digital economy.

Program Overview:
The trip aims to exchange knowledge, foster international partnerships, and explore pioneering trends and solutions in gaming and esports. Potential program highlights include networking with organizations such as Gumbo CollectiveNYC OTIMOME, and NYCEDC, visits to the NYU Game CenterTribeca Games Hub, and other innovation hubs in New York City, as well as a visit to the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and its MAGIC Center for workshops, networking, and discussions. Participants will gain insights into game development, esports innovation, research-to-industry transfer, and startup ecosystems, while building strong transatlantic networks.

Who should apply?
  • Researchers and advanced (PhD) students with expertise in game design, esports, digital media, or related fields
  • Private Sector / Startups such as executive, founder, or specialist in gaming or esports with experience in technology development or application
  • Public Sector representatives from ministries, agencies, or organizations focusing on gaming, digital economy, or innovation
  • Representatives from NGO, media, education, or international partner organization

Application & Conditions
  • Application Deadline: September 15, 2026
  • Minimum age: 21
  • Participation fee: 300 EUR
  • Hotel accommodation, meals, and local transportation during the program are provided at no additional cost to participants
  • Flight and visa costs: participant responsibility
  • Maximum participants: 15
