Business Perspectives

In cooperation with the American Council on Germany and the American-German Institute, we will host a half-day forum on the future of the transatlantic economy following the elections in the United States.

German Ambassador to the United States 
Andreas Michaelis will share his perspective on the transatlantic partnership under the new administration that will take shape in Washington. Matthew Luzzetti, U.S. Chief Economist at Deutsche Bank, will give a post-election economic outlook. In two panels, experts and practitioners will focus on issues such as mobility and sustainable transportation, innovation, technology, and supply chains. The panels will be moderated by Heike Buchter, Founder of New York German Press and New York correspondent for German weekly Die Zeit, and Katharina Kort, U.S. Bureau Chief and Correspondent for Handelsblatt. Other speakers will include Martin Daum, Member of the Management Board of Daimler Truck; Michael Heinz, Member of the Board of Executive Directors of BASF SE; Stefan Simon, Chief Executive Officer Americas and Chief Legal Officer for Deutsche Bank; and Dr. Guido Skurdlarek, President North America of Evonik Corporation. Former Managing Director of the IMF Dr. John Lipsky will deliver closing remarks.
