The aim of RobComp is to adapt high-tech production processes from the aerospace industry for economically and ecologically sustainable products. They open up new design possibilities for other areas. RobComp addresses deposition defects that occur with complex geometries in lightweight structures made with additive manufacturing and composites. The defects are detected by a sensor projected in a digital twin. The twin serves as a basis for elimination the errors. Up to now, manual work is necessary, which makes automation of production impossible and manufacturing very expensive. However, RobComp has not only found a solution to this problem, but is also addressing problems in current fiber composite technology. With its improved production application, RobComp improves additive manufacturing and enables new architectural degrees as well as previously impossible to automate processes.
